Jon Pringle

Founder and Senior Sports Physiotherapist

Jon is a Senior MSK Physiotherapist who has experience working across a wide variety of conditions, specialising in Sports Physiotherapy. Over the last 13 years he has worked in 3 countries, across a wide range of sports and sporting levels from school kids and weekend warriors to Olympic athletes and racing drivers. Jon has gone on to become TPI certified and is specialised in the analysis and treatment of golfers including golf swing biomechanics.

Jon has a strong biomechanics focus and looks to understand the reasons behind why injuries take place, how to prevent them and how to improve sporting performance. He has a real interest and experience in working with the rotational athlete across multiple sports including Cricket, Golf, Rowing, Triathlon and Tennis.

Formally a lead tutor for the Oxford School of Sports Massage, Jon has a very strong manual therapy focus and utilises advanced soft tissue techniques, joint mobilisations and manipulations in treatment. Jon is trained in Kinesiology and athletic taping, Acupuncture, Dry Needling, Tool assisted massage, Extracorporeal Radial Shockwave and other electrotherapy modalities. He also works together with patients to prescribe specific exercise programmes to help them improve as quickly as possible, to prevent injury reoccurrence and to improve performance while also minimising risk of injury.

Jon works closely with and has many links with leading orthopaedic surgeons and is ready and able to refer on as needed to get you the best possible care.

 

Jon has a keen interest in sports and being in the outdoors, is a member of Balmoral Golf Club and enjoys skiing in the Austrian alps. He was previously a Winger for the Reading Abbey RFC. He’s completed the Reading Half Marathon twice on behalf of Cancer Research UK, and competed in Olympic and Sprint Triathlons.

Notable career highlights:

Golf: Jon has previously run an AxIT force plate and isometric strength assessment day for Twin Waters Golf Academy, Queensland. Identifying a relationship between the mid-thigh pull and swing speed. Jon has also worked closely with multiple golfers (including Senior and Ex Tour Players) and coaches to identify physical limitations and improve swing speeds.

 

Rowing: Jon was the physiotherapist with the Oxford University Boat Club (OUBC) treating many of the crew from the 2012 to 2015 Boat Races, including multiple Olympic medal winners. Jon also worked intensively with the OUWBC, OULBC and OULWBC as well as other Oxford University college rowers. He also provided assessments, treatments and musculoskeletal screening for Headington School Oxford Boat Club (HSOBC), one of the UK’s leading rowing schools and a GB start programme.

 

Triathlon: Jon has significant experience in working preventatively with multiple Kona World Championship Ironman athletes. Jon worked closely with the Oxford Uni Triathlon Club (OUTriC) performaing fitnesstesting and pre-season MSK screening for their athletes. 

 

Athletics: Jon has provided physiotherapy treatment and sports massage for the Chilean Olympic track and field team during their preparation for the London 2012 Olympic Games and 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships and worked with Great British Para-Sport Athlete Daniel Hooker (T37, 100m) while preparing for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

​Racing drivers: Jon has experience working with Le Mans, GP2 Series, British Formula 3, EuroFormula Open, FIA World Championship and Audi R8 LMS Cup racing drivers.

 

Team sports: Jon has provided pitch side cover and injury clinics for the Oxford University Athletic Football Club (OUAFC) and the Oxford University Women’s Rugby Football Club (OUWRFC).
